Google Doodles in 2010

Google regularly modifies its logo to celebrate special events like national holidays, birthdays of famous artists and scientists or pop culture references. These special logos are called doodles and I have a few suggestions to the folks at Google for 2010. I didn’t include any annual events like St-Patrick’s Day, Chinese New Year, Thanksgiving etc.

  • Winter Olympics Doodle: The 2010 Winter Olympics will open on 12th February. The Olympic rings and the OO in Google should make the Doodle an easy piece of work.
  • Bonnie and Clyde Doodles: few outlaws have caught the public imagination like Boonie and Clyde. They were both born on 1910, on  24th March for Clyde Barrow and 1st Otober for Bonnie Parker.
  • World Cup Doodle: The kick-off of the 2010 Football World Cup is on 12th June. Even if American have their own football, I don’t think Google can give a pass to the most widely-regarded sporting event in the world.
  • Belka and Strelka Doodle: Belka and Stelka were the first animals to return safely from an orbital flights. Along with a rabbit, 40 mice and 2 rats, they were the passengers of Sputnik 5, launched on 19th August 2010.
  • Mother Theresa Doodle: Not many people know Agnesë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, but everyone knows Mother Theresa. The Nobel Prize winner was born on 26th August 1910.
